Party Time!!!

We had a great weekend celebrating Kayla's 1st birthday. Daddy and I were able to take the day off on Friday and spend the day with her. Later that evening (her actual birthday) we headed up to Gigi and Gramps' house for a small family get-together/party. Babaanne and Dede came up too!

On Saturday morning we had a pool party with Kayla's friends and family at Colonial Park Pool. The weather was perfect and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Thanks to everyone who helped make Kayla's 1st birthday extra special! Mommy and Daddy also want to thank all the grandparents for their great photos. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have any pictures!!!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, KAYLA!

September 3, 2009 - Day One

Today was Kayla's 1st birthday! It's hard to believe that it has already been a year since we were blessed with this healthy baby girl. We are overwhelmed with how much joy she has brought to our lives each and every day and couldn't imagine our lives without her.

Being able to see her learn and grow so much has been amazing. Here are just a few of the things she's up to these days:

• Favorite word to say is "Dadda"
• Favorite food is cheese but also likes watermellon, peaches, green beans, and eggs.
• Wants nothing to do with baby food - only likes things she can pick up in her fingers
• Loves to do forward rolls
• Starting to walk - uses her walker or holds on to our hands but she is getting better every day!
• Waves hi and bye
• Loves to dance - if the music is on this girl is dancing!
• Loves splashing Mommy and Daddy in the bathtub
• Gives high fives and claps her hands
• Likes to throw her diapers in the trash
• Mostly down to one nap a day but will sometimes take a second shorter nap, especially if we're in the car
• Loves going to the Children's Museum, the Little Gym, and storytime at the libraries
