Our Home away from Home...

We finally have everything out of our house after several weeks of organizing, packing and moving. Where have we gone, you ask? Well, thankfully we have AMAZING parents who have opened their doors and are letting us live with them for the next 9 months or so. We spend most of our time with Kent's parents as their house is much closer to our jobs and where we live. For the weekends, we plan to spend quite a bit of that time with my parents in Spring - it's like a mini vacation up there. We are definitely spoiled because we have our own bedroom and Kayla even has her own bedroom, toys, and clothes at both houses!

I'm sure you are probably wondering why we moved. Well, we are actually tearing down our current house and building a new home. It's been a long process and we still have tons of work to do, but we are looking forward to the finished product and raising our family in our new home. Once we have all the necessary permits we will be ready to proceed. Next up, demo day!

It's starting to look empty

All of our belingings fit inside this truck and are now packed away in storage - I hope I don't need anything, because I have no idea how I would ever find it or get to it!

Needless to say, we are very LUCKY and can not thank our parents enough for everything they have done and are doing for us!!!

It's Rodeo Time!

We had a Rodeo-filled weekend! Kent and I kicked things off on Friday night with our friends, John & Vita. We had our fill of bar-b-que then headed over to the rodeo to watch some bull riding, the calf scramble, and good old fashion mutton bustin'. What more could one want?!

the Boys...

We headed up to Gigi and Gramps' house on Saturday afternoon to visit with them. It was a gorgeous day so we decided to go to Willie's where we sat outside and enjoyed some crawfish and adult beverages while Kayla enjoyed playing in the sandbox.

Fun in the Sand

Sunday morning we loaded in the cars and headed over to the livestock show and carnival. As soon as Kayla saw a cow she said, "Mooooo". It was perfect! She enjoyed seeing all the animals and kept signing "more". Kayla also loves "choo's" aka trains so we decided to let her go for a ride. She wasn't too sure about riding inside but once it stopped she didn't want to get out.

Spring is in the Air

I love everything about this time of year! Not only is the sun still out when I get home from work but the weather has been great too! We took advantage of the beautiful Spring weather this weekend and spent quite a bit of our time outside...

Our little shamrock!

Have I mentioned how much she loves the park?!

Kayla's 1st adventure with purple bubbles...

Kayla's LAST adventure with purple bubbles!

Those purple bubbles sounded like fun when I saw them in Target, but what a mess! They actually wiped off her hands pretty easily but didn't come out of her clothes quite as easily. I definitely wouldn't recommend them to anyone - they went straight to the trash after that!

Hope you're having a great week!

18 months, already?

Yes, Kayla officially turned 18 months old today! Where or where has the time gone? It doesn't seem possible that it's been that long since we met our little princess. It appears as though the saying is true..."Time flies when you're having fun!"

Here are some of our little munchkin's favorite things these days:

- LOVES the outdoors so we spend alot of time at the parks and picking up leaves during our walks.

- Picky eater but some of her favorites include turkey from Goode Co., chicken nuggets, avocados, eggs, raisins, and red grapes. Yes, the grapes have to be red...she won't touch the green ones!

- Talking ALL the time...I just wish I could understand everything that she tells me! Some of the words that I can understand include: Momma, Daddy, baby, shoes, fall down, dog, mo for Elmo, "A", and her favorite these days - "No".

- Enjoys helping Mommy and Daddy around the house. We can usually count on her to help throw trash away, carry the recycle bins out, put away our shoes, and hang up the jackets. Such a big helper!

- Loves Barney - will give you a hug when she hears the infamous "I love you" song.

- Tries to do everything by her self - pulling up her pants, putting on her shoes, pulling the wagon.

- One of her favorite songs is "Wheels on the Bus" and she will do all the expressions (honking the horn, moving her arms for the wipers, saying "shhh", etc)

Loving on Barney

So excited!

Loves climbing on everything thanks to Little Gym

LOVE that smile!

Wait for me, Daddy!

Thanks for checking in!
