Resolution #1 - No more bottles for Kayla
Kayla was one of those babies who would NOT drink milk unless it was in her bottle. She would drink water from her sippy cup all day but if there was milk in the cup she would take a sip then spit it out and put the cup down. We continued to offer her the milk in the sippy cup but she continued to turn it away. This went on for the last couple months. We finally decided that after the holidays (when we were back to our regular routine) we would just put the bottles away and pray for the best. Out of sight, out of mind, right?
Well, the first couple days weren't easy, but after many tears she finally gave in and took the milk from her sippy cup. It's now day 4 and I'm happy to report that she took the milk from her cup without any crying this evening. Success - Kayla is officially "off the bottle"! Tomorrow I'm going to take Kayla to the store to let her pick out some new sippy cups!
While I'm very happy, I'm also a little sad to see the bottles go. I loved every second when I was able to hold her and give her a bottle. It made me feel like she was still a baby instead of the toddler that she is. Don't get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE "toddler" Kayla but I will miss the baby days.
